Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise that can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. It builds strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen.

Private Sessions

This is a fifty-five minute one-on-one intensive session with one of our highly trained instructors at a time of your choosing. Private sessions are available for Pilates mat, Pilates equipment, barre or yoga. Pilates private equipment sessions use various equipment including the Pilates reformer & allegro, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, Wunda Chair, Ped-o-Pull (among many others) to restore the body to its natural alignment while toning and adding strength and length to the muscles.

*Please note that the term “private session” refers to the client – instructor ratio. In some instances, studio may be occupied by other clients with sessions at the same time. If you prefer, studio may be completely free of other clients / instructors for an additional fee. Please inquire at the Front Desk or call 843.884.4420

Semi-Private Pilates Reformer Session

This is a shared (two or more clients) fifty-five minute intensive session with one of our highly trained instructors at a time of your choosing.  This in-depth session uses various Pilates equipment including the Pilates reformer & allegro, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, and Wunda Chair (among many others) to restore the body to its natural alignment while toning and adding strength and length to the muscles. We recommend taking 3 privates before attempting a semi-private.

If you need assistance finding a partner to accompany you to a semi-private session, please let us know. We will do our best to help find a fellow Breathe client who shares your same schedule. Please keep in mind that once you’ve been paired with another client with our assistance – and you’ve both confirmed a session time that’s been added to our schedule – the appointment session is non-cancelable.

Pilates Equipment Group Class

Our Group Equipment classes are a full fifty-five minute body workout that uses traditional Pilates equipment emphasizing form and proper body alignment. Using springs as resistance, Pilates equipment classes increase core muscle strength, endurance and increased flexibility and range of motion in the joints.  Maximum of 7 clients per class – this small class size allows each person to get plenty of individual attention.

*Before taking a Group Equipment Class you must complete at least one Private Reformer Session or our FREE “Pilates Basics” INTRO Session.

Pilates Mat Class

Our Pilates Mat class is a full fifty-five minute body workout taught by one of our highly trained instructors. Classes are performed on mats and focuses on the Balanced Body™ method of teaching which focuses on: Core strength, lumbopelvic and scapular stability, as well as assessing and correcting alignment and improving flexibility. Maximum of 15 individuals per class allows each student to get plenty of individual attention.

pre & post-natal pilates

Breathe Studio & Spa is proud to offer classes for clients wanting to focus on pre and post-natal health; providing the most comprehensive fitness and wellness programs in the Low-country.  The studio features Pilates mat and reformer classes based on Jennifer Gianni’s Fusion Pilates™ for Pregnancy.

All pre & post-natal clients must have their doctor’s approval for physical exercise prior to attending any classes.  Clearance forms may be supplied to Breathe Pilates: Studio & Spa staff or faxed to 843.884.4425 attn: Owner, Elizabeth Bridwell

The Reformer Group Class is a full fifty-five minute body workout with one of our highly trained instructors.  This in-depth class uses the Reformer to gently, but effectively prepare a woman’s body for the riggers of childbirth and/or tone and help her “get her body back” after delivery.  The Breathe Pilates Pre & Post-natal Method is based on Jennifer Gianni’s Fusion Pilates™ for Pregnancy and helps restore the pelvic floor, close a diastasis or regain abdominal strength after a c-section.

Barre Fitness

Barre fitness is a fast-paced, 55-minute full body workout that fuses the amazing benefits of ballet, Pilates and dance exercises at the ballet barre to give you a lean, elongated physique. Barre workouts strengthen, stretch and tone the body from head to toe and pay careful attention to the body’s core and proper alignment. The end result is a completely addicting and effective workout that you won’t be able to live without!

Yoga Practice

Yoga is a complete mind-body workout done on a mat on the floor that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing, meditation and/or relaxation. There are countless benefits of adding a yoga routine to your work-out regimen including: Increased muscle strength and tone. Improved respiration, energy and vitality. Increased blood flow.
